Manitou Springs Incline is one of the most unique and most popular trails in the area. Originally this was a cable car that took tourists up the side of Rocky Mountain until it was closed in 1990. Since then the rails have been removed but the wooden ties remained to prevent erosion of the hill creating a steep trail that appears from the bottom as an endless stairway to heaven. Since parts of Incline are owned by the city of Colorado Springs and Cog Railway it is technically illegal to climb the incline. Despite this, huge numbers of hikers climb Incline every day ignoring the "No trespassing" sign on the way up.
Our friend Matt hauled his bike up so he could enjoy a sweet ride down. Pretty sure he will never do that again.
Amazing views the whole way up
Opps no trespassing!

The most visited mountain in North America and the second most visited mountain in the world behind Japan's Mount Fuji, Pikes Peak forms a stunning backdrop for Colorado Springs and the Garden of the Gods. At an altitude of 14,110 feet above sea level, Pikes Peak is the 31st highest peak out of 54 Colorado peaks.
Kris and I on the top....yep 28 degrees out!

Goofing off as usual
It was DEF not warm up there!
Who wouldn't want to see this view!
All that in one day!! We spent the day with the Dzuricky family down in Colorado Springs. Tameka is getting ready to deploy again next month and Matt is scheduled to deploy early in 2012; so we are going to try to spend as much time with them as we can.
