Congrats to my mom and sister-in-law Jessica. This past weekend they ran in the Grandma's Marathon in Duluth MN. They both did incredible, despite the weather conditions; which were rainy, cold, and overall shitty.
Information about the Half Marathon (in which my mom ran):
Duluth area native Garry Bjorklund is a 1976 Olympian and a 1977 and 1980 champion of Grandma's Marathon. He has been instrumental in the development of running throughout Minnesota. In 1991, the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon was created to recognize his contributions to long distance running.
Grandma's Marathon (in which Jess ran):
randma's Marathon is a point-to-point course run along the beautiful north shore of Lake Superior. The 26.2-mile stretch begins on scenic Old Highway 61, just outside Two Harbors, Minnesota and finishes in Duluth's Canal Park. Enthusiastic volunteers, spectators and live entertainers line the streets to cheer runners on as they stride to the finish line.
Congrats mom and Jess!

Hey, thanks Linds and Kris......great commentary on both runs......Jessica did amazing on her run (her time of 4:03 was freakin awesome) and I was pleased with my time, and you were right on, the weather could not have been worse, but then again I do believe all runners involved knew it was do or die (and get really, really wet and frozen, which we all were before we even started), or not run at all; so whoever finished, finished, and that was the goal in the beginning, for just about everyone.....oh, oh, better quit, I can see myself babbling.................... love you, and again............thanks:)
